first seven

As we begin another year together, we acknowledge that the plans that God has for us, for his work among us; cannot be accomplished without him. As the cry of our hearts is for him above all, for the lost and the least, and for ourselves last, we choose to fast the first fruits of this new year. We willingly deny our bodies so that we can remember what we really hunger for, what our cities need, is Jesus. Join us on Midnight January 1, for our community wide seven day fast. Most of us are fasting from food but whatever you choose, join us in prayer as we hunger for more than food. I will post something for our reflection on this blog each day of the fast.
